Funeral Services For Mrs. Arthur Mrachek Monday

Funeral services were held from the Schley Holy Cross Catholic church Monday morning for Mrs. Arthur J. Mrachek, Sr., of Cresco, who died Friday afternoon in the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bina.

The Rev. James Milota, assistant pastor, offered the requiem mass and preached the funeral sermon. Present in the sanctuary was the Rev. Roman Schares, pastor of the Cresco Saint Joseph church. Burial was in the church cemetery, with the Bradley Funeral home in charge.

Mrs. Mrachek, the former Stella Bouska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bouska, was born on a farm southeast of Protivin, April 30, 1887. She attended the rural schools near her home, and on February 18, 1907, she was married in the Holy Trinity church, at Protivin, to Arthur J. Mrachek. The Rev. Rudolph Lakomy performed the marriage.

Immediately following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Mrachek started farming seven and one-half miles southwest of Cresco, the farm on which Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bina now live. Mrs. Mrachek was a life-long resident of Howard county.

The Mracheks retired from the farm in November, 1944, moving to Cresco. Mr. Mrachek died June 30, 1955.

Mrs. Mrachek was a member of the Schley Holy Cross church and the parish Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving Mrs. Mrachek are four children, George Mrachek, Mrs. Charles Bina, Arthur Mrachek and Frank Mrachek, all of Cresco, and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Slebiska of Calmar, and Mrs. Joseph Puffer of Spillville.

Preceding Mrs. Mrachek in death, in addition to her husband, were a son, Joseph, who died 11 years ago, and five brothers, Frank, Godlove, John, Charles, George and Theodore Bouska, and one sister, Barbara.
