Services held for Henrietta Mrachek

Funeral services for Henrietta Mrachek were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley. The Rev. Michael L. Tauke officiated. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Henrietta, 86, died Thursday, September 23, 1999 at Regional Health Services Hospital in Cresco.

Henrietta A. Mrachek was born September 20, 1913 in Winneshiek County, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Praska) Novak. She attended rural school.

On November 8, 1933 she married George T. Mrachek at the Holy Trinity Church in Protivin. They made their home on a farm north of Schley until they retired and moved into Cresco.

Henrietta liked to quilt, crochet, and all types of needlework. She also liked gardening and canning. She was a member of the Holy Cross Rosary Society, and later the Assumption Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include one son: Sylvester of Cresco; three granddaughters; one brother: James Novak of Protivin; and one sister: Sophie Bender of Burr Oak.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband on January 2, 1991; her parents; one brother: Julius Novak, and one sister: Gertrude Voyek.
