Peter Milota Found Dead in Bed on Sunday

Funeral services for Peter Milota, 63 of Cresco, who was found dead in his home, one mile south of Schley, by his hired man, Adolph Koudelka, Sunday, were held at the Schley Holy Cross church yesterday morning.

Mr. Milota, who lived alone, was believed to have died the night before. Although not in serious ill health, he had suffered previously from a minor heart condition. He was well enough on Saturday to attend to business matters in Cresco.

The requiem mass was offered by the Rev. Jaroslav S. Skluzacek, pastor of the Schley and Protivin parishes. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. The Bradley Funeral home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Peter Milota, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Milota, was born in Iowa July 9, 1892. He was a veteran of World War I.

Among Mr. Milota’s survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Mike Haskovec and Mrs. Frank Bilek, besides a number of nephews and nieces. A sister, Mrs. Charles Crowe, preceded Mr. Milota in death.
