Funeral Services held In Holy Cross Church

Funeral services for Bennie Koudelka south of Cresco were held July 2 in the Holy Cross church, Schley.

The Rev. Ludwig Urbanek, pastor of the Assumption church, Little Turkey, conducted the services in the absence of the Rev. Louis Trzil.

Mr. Koudelka died June 29 in an Iowa City hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks. Prior to this time, he was a patient in Cresco hospital for about a month.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Frank Koudelka, his two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Opat and Mrs. Gable, and four brothers, Clarence, Leonard, August and Adolph.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Koudelka, who died two years ago.

Transcriber’s Note: His sister’s name has been spelled as Gebel in other obituaries so both spellings have been included in surnames. Cemetery records show Bennie was born January 25, 1914.
