Mrs. Marguerite Huber Funeral Held in Cresco
Funeral services for Marguerite Huber were held at the Assumption Catholic church on Jan. 10, with the Rev. E. L. Cooney officiating. Burial was in the Calvary cemetery at Schley. The Peckosh-Conway Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Huber died Jan. 7, at Schoitz Memorial hospital in Waterloo, at the age of 70. She had been ill for the past two years.
She was born Feb. 25, 1899 in Cresco, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hauber. She attended rural school and was a member of the Catholic church. On Jan. 11, 1921 she married Clarence Huber.
Mr. and Mrs. Huber were owners and operators of the South Side Café in Cresco from 1944 to 1949. They farmed in the Chester area from 1949 to 1958. After Mr. Huber’s death in 1960, Mrs. Huber lived in Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Ray Hauber. She was also preceded in death by her son, Parnell Huber who died Oct. 15, 1969.
Mrs. Huber is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Richard Burke of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Emmett Hauber of Minneapolis and Carl Hauber of Omaha, Neb.; and four sisters, Mrs. Victor Ralph of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Ed Lansing of Decorah, Mrs. Joe Barry of Hawkeye, and Mrs. James Collins of New Hampton.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Minneapolis, Minn., Omaha, Neb., Austin, Minn., Grinnell, Decorah, New Hampton and Hawkeye.
