Clarence E. Huber, Chester, Dies at Rockwell Sunday

A requiem mass for Clarence Bernard Huber, 59, of Chester, former Cresco café operator and well known throughout Howard county, was offered in the Cresco Assumption church yesterday morning.

Mr. Huber died in the nursing home at Rockwell Sunday. He had been in ill health since suffering a stroke December 14, 1957.

The funeral mass was offered by Mr. Huber’s brother, the Rev. E. Augustine Horn, of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery at Schley. The Peckosh Funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.

Clarence Bernard Huber, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Huber, was born at Lourdes July 14, 1900.

He was married to Marguerite Hauber and the couple became the parents of three children, two of whom survive.

Mr. Huber suffered the stroke in 1957 while farming near Chester. He was a member of the Saint Stephen’s Catholic church.

Surviving Mr. Huber are his wife, Marguerite, and two children, Parnell Huber of Rockwell, and Mrs. Richard (Geraldine) Burke of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. There are eight grandchildren and six brothers and sisters, including Art F. Huber of Cresco, Julius Huber of Austin, Mrs. Dan Blackburn of Cresco, the Rev. E. Augustine Horn of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Richard Horn of Cresco, and Raymond Horn of Lime Springs.
