Edward Hovorka services held Nov. 29

Funeral services for Edward J. Hovorka were held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, November 29, at Assumption Catholic Church with Rev. Michael C. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross at Schley. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edward, 78, of rural Cresco, died Saturday, November 26, 1994, at the Howard County Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Ed was born near Schley in Howard County January 4, 1916, the son of Albert and Mary (Moravetz) Hovorka. He attended the Assumption School in Cresco.

On November 17, 1936, he married Caroline Pecinovsky at the Holy Trinity Church in Protivin. To this union two children were born. Caroline died July 12, 1953, and Ed married Margaret (Tlusty) Koudelka February 20, 1971, at the Holy Cross Church in Schley.

Surviving him are his wife, Margaret; one son, Edward W., of Cresco; one daughter, Willomene Anderson of Maple Plain, MN; one step son, William Koudelka of Elma; one step daughter, Wilma Frana of Calmar; 11 step grandchildren; and 15 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; two step grandchildren; his parents; one brother, Lewis; and four sisters, Anna Novak, Elizabeth Cisar, Celia Svoboda and Clara Tupy.
