Services held for Margaret Hovorka

Funeral services for Margaret Hovorka were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 5 at the Notre Dame Parish-Assumption Worship Center in Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiating. The family placed the pall. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Schley. Pallbearers were Eugene, Tony, Allen, Jeff and Bruce Frana, and Vickie Demro and Karla Koudelka. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Margaret, 88, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the Regional Health Services Hospital in Cresco.

Margaret Hovorka was born September 23 1915 in Paris Township, Howard County, the daughter of Joseph and Antonia (Benedict) Tlusty. She was baptized and confirmed in our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at Lourdes, where she attended the rural school near her home.

On November 12, 1935 she married Edward A. Koudelka at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Lourdes. She joined the Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was a member until its closing. She belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society.

On February 20, 1971 she married Edward Hovorka at Holy Cross Church in Schley.

She liked to garden, raise flowers, and was an excellent cook.

She is survived by one daughter: Wilma Frana of Calmar; one step son: Edward Hovorka; one step daughter: Willomene Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by both husbands: Edward Koudelka on October 12, 1961 and Edward Hovorka on November 26, 1994; one son: William; three grandchildren; her parents; six brothers: Frank, Joseph, Edward, Henry, Jim, and John; and three sisters Elizabeth Wagner, Mary Bugenhagen, and Josephine Koshatka.
