Ernst W. Friedrich Rites at Maple Leaf

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Maple Leaf Lutheran church for Ernst W. Friedrich of Elma. The Rev. Harold Mountain officiated at the services and burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran cemetery at Maple Leaf.

Ernst W. Friedrich was born March 20, 1891 to Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Friedrich at rural Elma. He attended the rural Elma school and on Nov. 12, 1919(?) he was married to Alinda Rimrodt. Mr. Friedrich was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul Maple Leaf Lutheran church and had served on the church council. He had also served on the Elma Creamery board and as a township school director. He was in World War I, from 1917 till 1919 as a sergeant in the army. He was also a member of the World War I Barracks.

Survivors include his wife, Alinda of Elma, three sons, Reuben of Elma, Orval of Phoenix, Ariz., and Loyd of Elma; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Victor Streich of Rochester, and a brother, Erich Friedrich of Elma.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Caesar, Dan, William and Emil Friedrich, and four sisters Mrs. Rudolph Bueckman, Mrs. Seth McCaleb, Mrs. Laurence Halweg, and Mrs. Lyle Hyberger.
