R. V. Condon, 56, Died Saturday; Funeral Tuesday

A requiem mass was offered in the Schley Holy Cross Catholic church yesterday morning for Ray Vincent Condon, 56, of Lourdes, who died in the Cresco hospital Saturday morning.

The funeral mass was offered by the pastor, the Rev. J. S. Skluzacek, who also preached the sermon and conducted services at the graveside in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mr. Condon first became ill of a heart condition about four years ago. A short time later he became sufficiently well enough to permit him to carry on his farm operations. Last April he again became ill and had since been a patient in the hospital on three occasions.

Ray Vincent Condon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Thomas Condon, was born at Riceville, August 23, 1902. He was educated in the Riceville schools and was married to Mae Nibaur in Our Lady of Lourdes church at Lourdes, June 22, 1926.

After living a short time in Riceville, Mr. and Mrs. Condon moved to Schley in February 1927. They made their home at Schley until the spring of 1955 when they moved to a farm near Lourdes.

Mr. and Mrs. Condon became the parents of a daughter, Patricia Ann, now of Waterloo. Mr. Condon was a member of the Schley Holy Cross church and the Holy Name society.

Surviving Mr. Condon, in addition to his wife, Mae, and daughter, Patricia Ann, are eight brothers and sisters, including Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Hentges of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; Mrs. Edmund (Nina) Burke of Waterloo, Dr. Edwin T. Condon of Milan, Illinois; Maurice Condon of New Haven; Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Vihstad of Mazeppa, Minnesota; Margaret Condon of Washington, D. C.; James Condon of Waterloo, and Mrs. Mart (Mary) Ackerman of McIntire.

Also surviving are his uncles and aunts, Mary E. Doran of Waterloo, Francis Doran of Saint Paul, Andrew Doran of Canada, and Mrs. Bernice Doran Hugebach of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Preceding Mr. Condon in death were his father, who died in 1943; his mother, who died in 1947, and a sister, Helen, who died in infancy.

Among the relatives from a distance attending the service in addition to his brother, sisters, uncles and aunts with the exception of his uncle, Andrew Doran of Canada, were Mr. and Mrs. James Havlik and daughter, Mary of Kimball, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Urban and Mrs. Melvin Metzker of Mitchell, South Dakota, Raymond Nibaur of Burlington, Donald Frank of Yorktown, Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Viebock of Waterloo, Adrian Hentges and son, Gary of Plainfield, Wisconsin, and Clair, William and Jerome Condon, all of New Haven.
