Services held for Raymond Capouch

Funeral services for Raymond Capouch were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at the Holy Cross Church Cemetery in Schley. Pallbearers were his nephews: David Capouch, Bob Randak, Lloyd Neubauer, Virgil Neubauer, and Bill Koudelka. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Ray, 88, died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital of a massive heart attack.

Raymond Joseph Capouch was born March 23, 1913, the son of Joseph and Mary (Kubik) Capouch. Ray’s boyhood was spent on a farm northwest of Schley. Ray attended country school near Schley in Howard County where the Sovereign Elevator now sits.

On September 22, 1941 he married Adela Koudelka at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. They spent their entire life on a farm west of Schley. After retiring from farming, Ray enjoyed restoring antique engines and going to sales. He resided at the Cresco Care Center since April 20, 1999.

He is survived by one sister: Viola Capouch in the Cresco Care Center.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Adela on June 11, 1999; his father Joseph on June 9, 1965; his mother on November 17, 1958; one brother: George; and one sister: Dora Neubauer.
