SARATOGA – Funeral services for Raymond E. Buhr of Saratoga were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at New Covenant Fellowship Church in Osage, IA with Rev. Jim Shelton officiating. Interment was in Maple Leaf Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Elma, IA.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, IA handled the arrangements.

Raymond, 87, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, IA.

Raymond E. Buhr was born October 27, 1921 on the family farm near Maple Leaf the 12 and last remaining child of William and Bertha (Kuchenmeister) Buhr. He attended rural school through the eighth grade and later attended an electrical trade school in Chicago. Raymond served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in San Diego, CA and Fort Lewis, WA.

On April 21, 1948 he married Donna Palmersheim. He developed an electrical and plumbing business from their Saratoga home. They had five children and late divorced. On December 24, 1981 Raymond married Blanche Fowlie. Raymond was a salesman through August 2008 for numerous products including natural health and air/water purification.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche of Saratoga, IA; son:, Orlin (Carol) of Marion, Gene (Cindy) of Albert Lea, MN; and Conrad (Faye) of St. Paul, MN; daughters: Audrey (Greg Thurlow) of Bozeman, MT and Karla (Roger Brannaman) of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SARATOGA - Raymond E. Buhr, 87, of Saratoga, died Monday (Nov. 17, 2008) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the New Covenant Fellowship Church in Osage, with the Rev. Jim Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in rural Elma.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Lindstrom funeral Home in Riceville, and one hour before services at the church.
