William Ernst, 71, Rites at Burlington

Funeral services for William McKinley Ernst, 71, were held on June 20 in Burlington's Prugh's chapel with the Rev. G.A. Saathoff officiating. Burial was at Aspen Grove cemetery.

Mr. Ernst was born July 17, 1900, in Cresco. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ernst. He married Sadie Lanning on March 15, 1948, in Burlington. Mr. Ernst enlisted in the army during the first world war and was stationed in Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Evans, of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Lois Sloon of Yakima, Wash., Marian Ernst of Yakima, Wash., four brothers, Clarence of Minneapolis, Walter of Cresco, Arthur of Austin, Minn., Emmett of the state of Washington, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Urban of Cresco, and Mrs. Florence Calloway of Rahway, N.J., six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
