Services held for Helen Flugge, 71

Memorial services for Helen Flugge of Lime Springs were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with Rev. Robert Hupp officiating. Interment was in the Howard Center Cemetery in rural Lime Springs. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Helen, 71, died Friday, July 26, 2002 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah.

Helen Mary Flugge was born July 14, 1931 at Mason City, the daughter of Michael and Helen (Pipin) Maskarina. She attended school at Mason City.

On September 21, 1947 she married Ralph Flugge at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They moved to Charles City until 1961, and then they moved to the Cresco, Lime Springs area. She lived mostly on an acreage.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and its circles. She liked to bake, sew, and play cards with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Ralph; six children: Linda Dvorak of Iowa City, Larry of Cresco, Sue Thomas of McChesney Park, IL, Ralph L., Randy, and Steve all of Cresco; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Kelley of Mason City, Marjorie Nelson of Forest City, and Anna Maskarina of Minneapolis, MN.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother: George.
