Frank Church, Long-Time Businessman, Dies Here

Funeral services for Frank William Gaius Church were held Nov. 29 at the United Methodist church with the Rev. Wayne Wasta officiating. Burial was in the Howard Center cemetery with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He died Nov. 25, at the Howard County hospital.

Mr. Church was born Oct 9, 1902, in Howard county on a farm south of Cresco, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaius Windsor Church. He went to the area schools and was graduated from Cresco high school. In November, 1920, he moved to town with his parents. In 1923 he established his business in Cresco and served this community for 51 years.

He also served for a time as councilman and mayor of Cresco and served on the Howard County Conservation board and also the state conservation board.

On August 20, 1952, he married Vinita Ohmacht at the Little Brown church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mrs. Ellen Marshall.

Mr. Church is survived by his wife, Vinita.
