Gustav Riekmann Funeral Services At Lime Springs

Funeral services for Gustav W. Riekmann, 60, of Davis Corners, were held at the Lime Springs Saint Paul Lutheran church Thursday afternoon. Mr. Riekmann, who was found dead in the barn on his farm by his wife February 17, apparently suffered a heart attack while doing farm chores.

Conducting the services was the Rev. Clare E. Biegler, pastor, and burial was in the Howard Center cemetery.

Mr. Riekmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Riekmann, was born at Lime Springs December 1, 1903. Shortly after birth he was baptized in the Lutheran church at Davis Corners. It was in this same church that he was confirmed in 1917.

Mr. Riekmann was married to Adaline Dienert October 28, 1930. Mr. and Mrs. Riekmann became the parents of three children, Mrs. Dale Friedrich of Elma, Mrs. Robert Thorson of Cresco, and Gordon Riekmann of Rochester.

A life-long resident of the Davis Corners-Lime Springs community, Mr. Riekmann was a charter member of the Lime Springs Saint Paul Lutheran church. An active church member, he served at one time as president.

Surviving Mr. Riekmann, in addition to his wife and children, are eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
