Mrs. Elizabeth Foote Dies at Home of Son after a Long Illness

Mrs. Elizabeth Foote, died at the home of her son Stephen Foote, of this city Friday, Feb. 16 after a lingering illness. She was 80 years of age.

Elizabeth Foote was born in Lindin, Wis., January 16, 1854. At the age of three years she moved with her parents to Fennimore, Wis., where she grew to womanhood. In 1873 she was united in marriage to S. R. Foote.

To this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter, all of whom are surviving with the exception of one son, Joseph, who was killed in an auto accident ten years ago.

Mrs. Foote was a God fearing woman, faithful and efficient as a wife and mother.

She leaves to mourn her death, her children, W. J. Foote, near Lime Springs, Mrs. W. B. Wilmot, near Lime Springs, Stephen and Eli of this city, one brother, Joseph Woodard of this city, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Mitchell officiating. Burial was made in the Howard Center cemetery.

Those who attended the funeral were Charles and Frank Boyd of Mason City, Richard Shephard and Mrs. Henry Saatoff of Ryan, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wheeler of Austin, Mr. and Mrs. William Moses and three children of Lime Springs, Mr. and Mrs. John Viska and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Viska, George McClimmon, William Needham, and Miss Mildred Rodgers of Fennimore, Wis.
