Clinton Steinmetz funeral held Monday
Funeral services for Clinton Carl Steinmetz were held Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. E.C. Franke officiating. Burial was in the Howard Center cemetery with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He died Oct. 8, at the Reutlinger Rest Home at the age of 78.
Clinton Carl Steinmetz was born March 12, 1898 on a farm in Winneshiek county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Steinmetz. On April 8, 1898, he was baptized into the membership of Immanuel Lutheran church. He was also confirmed there on April 2, 1911. He farmed in Winneshiek county until he was 38 years old and then moved to Madison, Wis. He also farmed in that area and in recent years he worked at the DeForest Country Club. He served in the army during World War II for over a year. Five weeks ago he returned to Cresco and resided in the Reutlinger Rest Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Elmer; and one sister, Mrs. Luella Farnsworth.
Survivors include his brother Joel of Cresco; his sister, Mrs. Charles (Kathryn) Frank of Cresco.
