Shirley Foley, 58, services yesterday

Funeral services for Shirley Foley, 58, were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at First Baptist Church in Cresco. The Rev. Edgar Francisco, Jr. officiated with interment in Howard Center cemetery. Arrangements were with Conway Funeral Home.

She died Sept. 13, 1987 in the Howard County Hospital after an extended illness.

Shirley Bessie (Dotzler) Foley was born December 17, 1928 in Howard county, the daughter of Edward and Mae (Shaeffer) Dotzler. She married Michael Francis Foley, Jr. on February 3, 1951 in Decorah. They were the parents of three children. Shirley worked as a nurses aide at the Howard County Hospital and was a playground supervisor at Cresco Elementary school.

Survivors include her husband, Mike of Cresco; two daughters, Sandy Shoemate of Leslie, Michigan and Fran Miller of Cresco; a son, Lee Foley of rural Lime Springs; one grandson, three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers, Edward Dotzler of Ridgeway, Henry Dotzler of Granger, MN, Lyle Dotzler of Springfield, IL, Steve Dotzler of Milwaukee, WI, John and Eugene Dotzler, both of Cresco; four sisters, Hazel Daws of Dell Rapids, S.D., Charlotte Lepa, Edith Lepa and Ann Hanni, all of Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Frances Long and four brothers, James, Dennis and twin brothers, William and Wayne Dotzler.
