William E. Sullivan William E. “Bill” Sullivan, 56, of Protivin, Iowa died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota after a short illness. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Nick March officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012, with a Scripture Service at 3:30 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 123 North Main St. in Protivin, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Bill was born May 1, 1956 in New Hampton, Iowa, son of Leo and Marie (Eckerman) Sullivan. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1974. Bill married Barb Hemann in 1974 they later divorced. In 1988 he married Diane Bruess. Bill worked at Sara Lee from 1974 until 1999. He then worked for Art's Milling in Protivin, IA until he became ill in late 2011. Bill liked being the “center of attention” with his many stories or tales as some might say. Bill was a very dedicated family man. He truly enjoyed cooking, his birds and his flowers. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, mostly his “deer camp” buddies and his son, Chris. Bill also enjoyed hunting, mowing the cemetery in Protivin, and watching Packers football with his son Chris. ��"Go Pack! Bill is survived by his wife, Diane of Protivin, a daughter, Carrie (Stuart) Ridge of San Diego, CA, two sons, Corey and Chris of Protivin, IA, two grandchildren, Piper and Tristan Ridge of San Diego, CA; one brother, Mike (Betty) of Fairbank, two sisters, Barb Hugeback of New Hampton, IA and Sue (Gary) Cenek of Cresco, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, Al (Ann) and his parents Leo and Marie, and a brother-in-law, Leon Hugeback of New Hampton, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
