Agnes M. Driscoll, age 96, died on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Cresco Care Center in Cresco, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service at the church. Agnes M. Driscoll was born on February 22, 1916 in Fort Atkinson, IA to William L. and Mary Ann (Malek) Hyke. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes School in Lourdes, IA. Agnes married Albert “Bussey” Hallman; together they worked for Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, IA. After a few years they settled in Cresco, buying the original Hallman home. Bussey passed away in 1957 at a young age. On June 23, 1959, she married Michael “Mickey” Driscoll. On the Driscoll farm, she enjoyed cooking, planting flowers and fishing until they moved to Cresco in 1974. Mickey passed away in 1999. Agnes was a very social person who loved visiting with people and chatting on the phone. She liked following current events, tennis, and “Dancing With the Stars” on TV. Most of all, Agnes adored being with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, treating them like her daughters and sons. Three sisters survive Mrs. Agnes Hallman Driscoll: Mrs. Jane Hudson of Cresco, IA, Mrs. Clara McKeown of Rochester, MN, Mrs. Genevieve Buker of Cresco, IA, and one brother, Charles Hyke of Waterloo, IA. Her nieces, Bernice Ollendieck of Cresco, IA, Shirley Berglund of Denver, CO, Marion Samec of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Mary Ann Wildman of Elkader, IA, and nephews, Robert Hyke of Phoenix, AZ, James Hruska of Cresco, IA, and several other nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding Mrs. Driscoll in death were her parents and an infant daughter. Twice widowed, Mrs. Driscoll, was preceded in death by husbands Albert “Bussey” Hallman and Michael “Mickey” Driscoll, four brothers, Benjamin, Leonard, William, and Clem Hyke, and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
