Edward Dotzler, 69, Funeral Services Thursday Morning
Edward S. Dotzler, 69, of Cresco, died in the Cresco hospital yesterday morning.
Funeral services for Mr. Dotzler are being held tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 10:30 in the Bradley Funeral Home.
Monsigner{sp} Vincent T. Hovermann, pastor of the Assumption church, will conduct the services and burial will be made in the Howard Center cemetery.
Edward Dotzler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Dotzler, was born April 19, 1890. He was married to Mae Agnes Shafer of Cresco February 18, 1915.
The couple became the parents of 16 children and had adopted one son, Dennis. Of the 17 children in the family, 13 survive. Mrs. Dotzler died in December, 1952.
Surviving Mr. Dotzler are Edward of Decorah, James of Winona, Minnesota, Henry of Cresco, Lyle of West Union, Mrs. Ralph (Hazel) Daws of Dell Rapids, South,{sic} John of Cresco, Steve of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. Lawrence (Chalotte) Lepa of Cresco, Mrs. Michael (Bessie) Foley, Jr. of Cresco, Mrs. Dale (Edith) Lepa and Mrs. Paul (Ann) Hanni, all of Cresco, Eugene, who is in service in Germany, and Dennis, at home.
Also surviving are a brother, Henry Dotzler, Sr. of Lime Springs, and four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Mauer of Bonair, Mrs. Fred (Carrie) Leffler of Cresco, Mrs. Donald Cessna of Roseville, Michigan, and Mrs. Frances Mohr of Lime Springs. There are a large number of grandchildren.
Preceding Mr. Dotzler in death, in addition to his wife, were three sons, William and Wayne twin sons who died in infancy, and Dennis who was killed in action in World War II, and a daughter, Frances.
