CRESCO – Funeral services for Irene M. Brenno of Cresco will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. Interment will be held in the Lincoln Cemetery in rural Ridgeway.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, and also one hour prior to services at the church.
Irene, 97, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.
Irene M. Brenno was born April 5, 1914 in Winneshiek County, Iowa the daughter of Ernest and Emma (Lewis) Kach. She was baptized on July 11, 1914 and confirmed on July 8, 1928 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. She attended rural schools and graduated from Cresco High School in 1931. She worked as a waitress at several different places.
On July 10, 1950 she married Nayton Adolph Brenno at the Lincoln Lutheran parsonage in Ridgeway. They lived on a farm south of Ridgeway for 37 years and retired to Cresco in 1988.
She was a member of the Lincoln Lutheran Church, then to Peace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, and was a member of the ELCA and several different circles. She was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W.
She is survived by her husband; one brother: Donald Kach; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; her parents; one brother: Percy Kach; and one sister: Dorothy Balk.
Memorials may be directed to the Lincoln Cemetery Fund.
