JEAN A. RICE

Jean Anna Rice was born at Riceville, Iowa on June 7, 1950, the daughter of Carl and Lucille Zobeck Wolfe. She was baptized at the Chester Lutheran Church in 1950 and was confirmed there in 1965. Jean attended the Chester schools and graduated from Crestwood High School in 1968.

She died on October 12, 1979.

Upon graduation she attended cosmetology school in Waterloo. She was married to Gary Lee Rice on April 4, 1970 and they made their home in Chester. They were the parents of two children, Timothy and Rhonda. Jean operated "Jean's Beauty Shoppe" at her home the past several years. Jean was active in the United Lutheran Church in Chester, Iowa where she taught Sunday School for the past three years and where she had been recently elected president of her women's group.

She is survived by her son Timothy, daughter Rhonda, her mother Mrs. Lucille Wolfe; two sisters, Mrs. Karen Hagemeier of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Margie Johnson of Elma, Iowa; and a brother Roger Wolfe of Chester, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her father Carl Wolfe.
