George Edward Loomis died at his home in Chester, Iowa January 8, 1902. He had been a great sufferer. The deceased was born at Roxbury, Vermont, May 28, 1828, where he resided until his marriage to Miss Elvira Cram of Braintree, Vermont on October 11, 1851 when they moved to LaCrosse County, Wisconsin and in 1867 to Chester where they have since resided.
The widow and three children survive. Mr. Loomis was well and favorably known to many LeRoy residents. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at Chester with burial in Chester Hill Cemetery.

George E. Loomis the aged father of former county clerk C. A. L. Loomis, died last Tuesday at his home near Chester, the funeral being held the Friday following. We are without further particulars.
