William Henry Frost 1863-1948
OBITUARY – WM. H. FROST
William Henry Frost, eldest child of William Henry and Sarah Jane Frost, was born in Tamerton Foliate, Devonsire, England on April 23, 1863. He passed away at his home in Lime Springs May 31, 1948, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 8 days. Death occurred at the home of his son Dana in Lime Springs where he received tender care.
He came to the United States on December 3, 1870, with his parents, one brother and one sister. He had lived in this community since that time. He operated a restaurant in Lime Springs, the farmed for 12 or 14 years northwest of Chester, Iowa, and for at least fifteen years was a cream hauler for the Chester Creamery. He had resided in Lime Springs the past 31 years.
On May 28, 1893, he was married to Alice Winegar. Three children were born to this union. One daughter preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Alice Frost, one son William Dana of Lime Springs, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. E. M. Andrez of San Luis Obispo, Calif., two brothers, Richard of Lime Springs and Fred of Charles City, Iowa; and one sister Susie Converse of Cresco, Iowa; six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One daughter, one brother and four sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Lime Springs Methodist Church for William H. Frost, 85. The pastor, Rev. Lament C. Smith officiated. Duets were sung by Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Davis Sr. The pallbearers were Ed H Evans, M. H. Jones; W. R. Williams; A. J. Roberts; O. John Jones; and T. E. Price
Burial was made at Pleasant Hill CemeteryLime Springs Herald, Thursday June 10, 1948
