Funeral Services Held Here for Mrs. Alma Keune, 80

Mrs. Alma Keune, 80, of Cresco, died in the Cresco hospital Saturday evening after she had been in ill health from a stroke suffered two and a half years ago.

Funeral services for Mrs. Keune were held at the Evangelical United Brethren church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. Dean Timm, pastor, conducted the funeral services and burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery. The Bradley Funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Keune was born January 17, 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. John Bronner of Albion township in Howard county. She was the youngest of 13 children.

She was united in marriage to Amiel Keune on December 10, 1908 and to this union were born two sons, Gordon and Burdette.

The Keunes were engaged in farming in Albion township until the spring of 1943 when they retired from the farm and moved to Cresco.

At the age of 10 years she joined the Evangelical church of which she was a member all her life.

Preceding Mrs. Keune in death were her parents, six brothers and six sisters, and her husband Amiel, who died about 10 years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Keune are her sons Gordon and Burdette, both of Cresco, three granddaughters, Mrs. Lester Johnson of Wichita, Kansas; Cynthia and Sandra Keune, two grandsons, Arden and Ronald Keune, all of Cresco, and three great-grandchildren, Dawn, Lance and Gayleen Johnson.

Among those from out of town attending the funeral services were relatives and friends from Harmony, Preston, and Spring Valley, Minn., Cedar Rapids, Mason City, Hampton, LaPorte City, Decorah and neighboring towns.
