Fred A. Keune, son of Godfrey and Amelia Keune, was born Nov. 3, 1868, in Albion Twp., Iowa, where he spent his entire life. Fred was of a quiet and reserved nature. He did not mingle with society, spending much of his time alone. For the past twenty years, he made his home with his brother, John, where he passed away on Jan. 31st at 8:30 p.m. All that loving hands could do was done for him. He leaves to mourn, two brothers, Charles of Canada, and John of Cresco, and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Ludwig of Florenceville, and Mrs. Pilger of Minnesota. His parents, six sisters and one brother have gone before him. Funeral was held on Saturday afternoon in the Evangelical church on the Ridge conducted by the pastor, W. A. Scholer.
