Mrs. William Bigalk

Mrs. William Bigalk, peacefully passed away at the home of her son Newton Bigalk near Granger on October 27 at the age of 72 years. She had been in failing health for the past few years.

Sarah Anna Kramer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kramer was born March 24, 1861 in Albion township, Howard county, Iowa. Her early life was spent on the farm now occupied by her son Charles and family.

On December 18, 1884, at the home where she was born, she was united in marriage to William Bigalk and shortly thereafter they took up farming on the farm now occupied by her son William J. and family.

In 1917 they moved to their home in Cresco, la. where Mr. Bigalk passed away December 11, 1930. Since then Mrs. Bigalk has had her home with her son Newton and family near Granger, Minn.

She is survived by three sons, Charles, Newton, and William J., all of Albion township, nine grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Griesy of Belmont, Ia. together with a large number of near relatives and friends. Two brothers, Charles and Jacob Kramer, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bigalk became a member of the Zion Evangelical church in Albion early in life and upon moving to Cresco she transferred her membership to First church here. As long as her health would permit she was an active member of her church, giving liberally of her time and talent to the cause of her Lord and Savior.

and thou art crowned at last."

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from Zion Evangelical church by Rev. Park E. Miller. The Misses Bloom and Schlesselman very effectively sang "Asleep In Jesus" and "No Night There." Miss Elsie Aegerter accompanied at the piano.

The body was laid to rest in the family lot at Cedar Hill Cemetery
