Blanche Cleveland, 79, services held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Cleveland were held at 2:00 p.m. December 4 at Faith Baptist Church in Cresco. Pastor Truman D. Jingst officiated with burial in Cedar Hill cemetery north of Cresco. Services were conducted by Conway Funeral Home.

She died of pneumonia at the Howard County Hospital on December 2 at the age of 79.

Blanche Ilene Cleveland was born September 18, 1903 to Sherman and Mary Jeffers. She moved to Cresco from Hampton at the age of six and attended the rural schools. She married Walter Fye in 1924 and they became the parents of a daughter, Juanita. They were later divorced.

In 1934 she married Ira Cleveland and they became the parents of a daughter, Barbara and a son, Bernard.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nick (Juanita) Grimm of Cresco and Mrs. Gene (Barbara) Cleghorn of Waseca, Minn.; a son, Bernard of Cresco; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Gordon Jeffers of Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ira in 1972 and a sister, Ruth Jeffers.

Relatives attended from Rochester and Waseca, Minn.; Cedar Falls, Knoxville and Des Moines and the surrounding area towns.
