Orlando Brokken, 72, Funeral Held Sunday
Funeral services for Orlando Brokken were held Nov. 30 at the United Methodist church with the Rev. Wayne Wasta and the Rev. Gene Rick of Harmony, officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery with the Bradley-Lindstrom Funeral home in charge of arrangements. He died Nov. 28 at the age of 72.
Orlando Benjamin Brokken was born Feb. 11, 1903, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brokken. He was born and reared in Fillmore County, Minn. On June 14, 1939, he was united in marriage to Violet Bigalk. Orlando Brokken farmed most of his life until 1963 when he suffered his first heart attack. In recent years he has been working as a broker and realtor and has been making his home in Cresco. In 1940 he joined the Methodist church in Harmony.
Mr. Brokken was preceded in death by his parents: one sister, Amy Schroeder; and five brothers, Ole, Tillman, John, Reuben and Sylvester.
Mr. Brokken is survived by his wife, Violet; two sisters. Mrs. Ray (Becky) Sheldon of Phoenix. Ariz., and Mrs. Erwin (Ruth) Harm of Harmony. Minn.
