ALBERT BRONNER, 69, IN ILL HEALTH, TOOK HIS LIFE THURSDAY

Vice-President of Howard County Fair Found on Fairgrounds. Survived by Widow, Four Sons.

Albert Bronner, 69, well-known retired Cresco farmer and vice-president of the Howard County fair board, took his life by hanging early Thursday morning at the fairgrounds.

Mr. Bronner, who had been in ill health for a number of years, was found on the north side of the amphitheater by Leon Davis, Howard county road employee. Percy Haven, sheriff, and Norman Bradley, coroner, termed the death suicide.

Funeral services for Mr. Bronner were held Saturday afternoon in the Cresco First Evangelical church, with the Rev. H. K. Kitson, pastor, in charge. The BradIey Funeral home was in change of the funeral arrangements, and burial was in the Cedar Hill cemetery.

Albert Henry Bronner, son of Mr. and Mr. John Bronner, was born in Albion township, Howard county, September 16, 1881. Albert was one of a family of 13 children and attended the rural school and high school in Granger and Cresco.

He was married to Addie Scheier. Mr. and Mrs. Bronner became the parents of four sons, all of whom are living.

Mr. Bronner joined the Zion Evangelical church in 1914. After retiring from the farm in September, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Bronner transferred their membership to the First Evangelical church in Cresco.

The retired Howard county farmer took great interest in the Howard County fair and was especially devoted to music.

Surviving Mr. Bronner, besides his widow and four sons, Kenneth of Waterloo and Eldred, Robert, and Clarence of Cresco, there are 13 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. A. H. Keune of Cresco, and Mrs. Charles Pudil of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and other relatives.
