Louis Koudelka

Louis Koudelka, 75, of Cresco and formerly of Protivin, died Thursday, June 7, 2001 at Regional Health Services Hospital of Howard County in Cresco.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with Rev. John Moser officiating.

Casket bearers were grandchildren and nephews: Jeff Koudelka; Angie Koudelka; Nicole Rosenbaum; Chuck Hadacek; Randy Koshatka; Michelle Foltz; James Barloon and Roger Ott.

Gifts were carried by Anna Schmauss and Keri and Collin Lais. Reader was Tami Jo Koshatka. Eucharistic Minister was Mary Ann Novotny.

Burial was in the church cemetery in Protivin, with Conway Funeral Home of Cresco assisting in arrangements.

Louis Francis Koudelka was born July 31, 1925, the son of Frank and Lydia (Barloon) Koudelka near Protivin. He attended rural school and farmed his whole life. He also did various jobs in the area.

Louis Koudelka was united in marriage to Hermina Ott June, 7, 1948 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas.

He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Catholic Workman. He enjoyed woodworking, doing crafts and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Hermina Koudelka; two daughters, Linda Koshatka and Lori Stapelkamp, both of Cresco; one son, Donald Koudelka of Protivin; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two sisters, Clara Panos and Alice Pechola, both of Protivin.

Funeral services for Louis Koudelka of Cresco were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery, both in Protivin. Rev. John Moser officiated. Pallbearers were grandchildren and nephews: Jeff Koudelka, Angie Koudelka, Nicole Rosenbaum, Chuck Hadacek, Randy Koshatka, Michelle Foltz, James Barloon, and Roger Ott. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
