Vivian Ellenore Jones, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Jones, was born on the 27th day of January, 1916. On June 21st she was dedicated to the Lord in the ordinance of Holy Baptism. Early on Monday morning, Aug. 21, at the age of six months and 25 days her spirit took its flight to the bosom of the eternal Father. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, conducted by the Rev. H. W. Owen. The interment took place in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Jesus has declared that "Except ye become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." according to this Mighty Master of all ages, the child, with his simple faith and unaffected confidence and sincere love, is the most attractive type of discipleship. Children bring down something of Heaven into the midst of our rough and cold earthliness. What little of Paradise we see on earth, is due to the presence of children among us. All the good and wholesome feeling that is entwined with childhood and cradle, is one of the secrets of the providential government of the world.
Few months ago I had the privilege of holding this darling babe in my arms, and dedicate her through the ordinance of Holy Baptism, to God, the Father, Christ the Redeemer and the Hold Ghost, the Purifier and Sanctifier of our souls. I never thought then, that God was going to take her home so soon. Today she is a pearl in the crown of Jesus. Today she is a little angel, beholding the face of the Trinity, around the eternal throne. Today she is lulled to sleep in the arms of Infinite love.
A little girl had a baby sister who died, and the little baby was put into a tiny coffin. When the little girl saw it she said, "Mother, baby has got a new cradle." That was a pretty name for it. It's a new cradle she is in today lulled to sleep in the tender arms of Infinite love.
A thought that is of supreme consolation is the evidences we have that children who die in infancy are heirs of the Eternal Life. They go to their Redeemer, who so loves them and so graciously embraces them in His far-reaching salavation plan. Lovely buds these children are, transplanted by death in that larger garden above, where, in pure atmosphere and with Heavenly fragrance, they are to blossom through the endless cycles of a glorious eternity. Let this bring joy to the grief-stricken father and mother of this darling child, and to all the relatives, and all of us who love little children.
"Mothers, I see you with you nursery light
Leading your babies, all in white
To their sweet rest
Christ, the Good Shepherd, carries mine tonight
And that is best.
I cannot help tears when I see them twine
Their fingers in yours, and their bright curls shine
On your warm breast
But the Saviour's is purer than yours or mine
He can love the best."CARD OF THANKS
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our many friends for their many acts of kindness, expressions of sympathy and beautiful floral offerings, on the occasion of our recent bereavement.
