Lime Springs Sun Herald August 3, 1916
Frederick Wilhelm was born at Lime Springs, Iowa, April 14, 1894, and died at Dell Rapids, S. D., Saturday, July 29, at the age of 22 years, 4 months, and 15 days.
His death came very suddenly as he went out with a number of companions to bathe and accidently slipped from a rock into a deep hole, and being unable to swim life was extinct before he was rescued, although his companions did all in their power to save him.
He leaves to mourn his early death his mother, six sisters and five brothers besides a host of relatives and friends. His early life was spent on a farm near Lime Springs. Later the family moved to York where they lived until the death of his father six years ago since which time they have lived in Chester. The blow falls most heavily on the aged mother as Fred being the youngest son was her supporter, always kind and thoughtful for her and will be sadly missed in the family circle.
The remains were brought to Chester Monday evening accompanied by three brothers from Dell Rapids.
A short funeral service was held at the family home Tuesday followed by a service in the Chester M. E. church, both conducted by Rev. Jno. E. Olson. The remains were taken to Lime Springs where interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
