MRS. FRED JACOBUS

Ida Oestrich was born near Watertown, Jefferson county, Wis., on the 30th day of April, 1862. At the age of twelve she came with her parents to Howard county, Iowa, where she continued to live to the time of her death on Aug.15, 1914.

She was married to Fred Jacobus on the 18th of March, 1886. To this union were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. Those who survive her are Mrs. Edith McInroy, Hazel, Robert and Ray.

Mrs. Jacobus was the third of a family of eight, two sisters and six brothers. Those surviving her are Otto and Robert of Humboldt, Iowa, Emil of Worthington, Minn., and Frank, Emma, Reinhart and John, who live in the vicinity of the old home. Father and mother preceded her several years ago. Thus the family is commencing to gather to their new and better home. Though not a member of any church, she was reared in the Lutheran faith. She had the largest sympathy with all believers and personally confessed saving faith in Jesus, the Saviour of men.

Besides a bereaved husband, children, sisters and brothers, she leaves many friends to mourn her death.

The funeral services were held at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Paul Pease preaching the sermon, and the large number of friends in attendance gave evidence of the esteem in which the deceased was held, and of the deep sympathy felt for the bereaved family.
