Edward R. Frisbie, 102, a printer with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for more than 50 years, died of congestive heart failure May 22 at a St. Petersburg, Fla., hospital.
Mr. Frisbie was born in Cresco, Iowa. He came to Washington at the age of 6, and began working as an apprentice plate printer at the bureau at the age of 16. He was director of the bureau's proving room when he retired in 1941, then returned to the bureau during World War II and retired for second time in 1945.
He retired to Florida 15 years ago.
Mr. Frisbie was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Washington.
He belonged to Anacostic lodge No. 21 of the Masons.
He is survived by a daughter Elsie F. Fisher of Rockville, two grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
