MARRIED.
On the 19th day of September, 1918, occurred a quiet wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scheurer when their daughter Anna Matilda Scheurer became the wife of Mr. John Alfred Brown.
Only the immediate relatives and friends were invited to witness the ceremony solemnized by Rev. J. R. Nolte, pastor of the Evangelical church.
Lozen’s Wedding March was played by the bride’s sister Mrs. Albert Bronner. The bride and groom were attended by Mr. Joshua Scheurer brother of the bride, and Miss Louise Miller.
After the ceremony Miss Mollie Miller and Miss Louise Miller sang the selection entitled “O Promise Me,” by Clement Scott.
The bride was gowned in a blue suit and carried a large bouquet of pink and white astors{sic}.
The colors pink, white and green were used in decoration.
A three-course dinner was served and a pleasant evening was spent by all.
To the father of the bride, another source of joy lay in the fact that he was also celebrating his 83rd birthday anniversary.
The bride and groom are well known in this community, and their many friends wish them a happy married life. Mr. and Mrs. Brown will be at home on the farm with the bride’s parents where their friends are always welcome.
