Married at Elma.
The marriage of Mr. Charles A. Weaklen of this city to Miss Mary Casey of Elma was solemnized by Reb. Father Gunn of the Immaculate Conception Church at Elma, Tuesday morning, May 22nd, at eight o’clock. The bridal pair were unattended. Mendelssohn’s Wedding March was played and Miss Luella Devereaux sang the songs, “My Song to You” and “Ave Maria.”
After the church services about forty relatives and friends gathered for an eleven o’clock breakfast at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was prettily decorated with pink and white.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Casey of Elma. She is a splendid young woman, most highly recommended by all who know her.
The bride wore a gown of hand embroidered blue georgette crepe with white hat and corsage bouquet of lilies of the valley and pink rose buds. Her going-away suit was a gray tailored gaberdine, with purple hat.
The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Weaklen of this city. He has been and educated in this city and now holds a position in the postal department as city mail carrier. He is an excellent young man and his conduct has been such as to reflect credit to his family name and to bring success to him in the affairs of the world. His bride is not altogether a stranger here, having lived with her parents in this community a short time. The bride and bridegroom come from fine parents and their great number of friends wish for them many years of happiness and success.
Mr. and Mrs. Weaklen left on the afternoon train for points north. Upon their return they will be at home to their friends after June fifteenth, on East Court street, of this city.—New Hampton Tribune.
The groom is a brother of Ed Weaklen who with his wife attended the wedding.
