Elma Attorney Takes Bride.
On Wednesday, June 30, 1915, in the parlor of the Savery hotel in Des Moines, occurred the marriage of Mr. Reed Elwood of Elma and Miss Goldie Mabel Dowd of Ossian. The ceremony took place at 4 o’clock p. m. and was performed by Dr. Bennett, Dean of Highland Park.
The affair was very informal. The guests present were: Miss Lee, of Ossian; Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Elwood, Lee W. and Dale Elwood of Elma, and Mrs. Bennett of Des Moines.
After a wedding banquet served in the private dining room of the Savery, the happy couple left on the 11:40 train for San Francisco where they will spend their honeymoon taking in the sights at the exposition.
The bride is well known in Elma, having been assistant principal of the Elma public school for the past year. She is an accomplished and charming young woman whose permanent addition to the educational and social circles of the town will be sincerely welcomed. The groom needs no introduction to the people of this community. He grew to manhood in our midst and is known as a popular, progressive young business man.—Elma New Era.
