On Tuesday, the 24th occurred the marriage of two of Cresco’s most popular young people, Ed. L. Weaklen and Miss Mabel Fish. The marriage ceremony took place at 9 o'clock at the residence of the officiating clergyman, Father T. J. Murtagh and a three course wedding breakfast was served at 10 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. The couple were attended by Miss Mildred Rand and Mr. Joseph Glass.
Mr. and Mrs. Weaklen left on the afternoon train for St. Paul, and will be “at home" after Oct. 15th at their new home in the Wanless residence.
Mr. Weaklen is our present county recorder, and after several years of residence in Cresco is counted one of our most popular and worthy young men. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Fish, and has been reared to womanhood in the city where she has a host of friends. The Plain Dealer extends its heartiest congratulations.Source: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer Oct. 1, 1912, P-LP, C-5
