A Home Wedding.
Last Tuesday, March 26th, at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. August Weinkauf, his daughter Minnie was united in marriage to Arthur Lidtke, Promptly at at{sic} 12 o’clock, while the song, “Oh Promise Me," was sang by the relatives, the bride’s pastor, Rev. A. Daugs, performed the ceremony. The bride was beautifully dressed in cream messeline, trimmed with over lace and beaded fringe, and wore the bridal veil. The groom wore navy blue. Only the near relatives were present. The young couple received many costly and beautiful presents.
The bride is one of Albion’s most popular young ladies and well known by all her many friends, as she has lived here all her life. We are sorry to lose one such as she from the Ridge.
The groom’s home is in Lime Springs, but he is not a stranger here, and we have learned his good manners and know he is a perfect gentleman, and know the two are worthy of one another.
In the early evening they were serenaded by a large crowd, and with so much shooting as there was done, it sounded like a busy bunch of soldiers. The groom used them right and they all went home wishing the groom and bride the best of luck and happiness the rest of their lives.
