Dell-Radcliffe Nuptials.
Sunday, July 18, 1909, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Dell occurred the marriage of their daughter Mathilda Rachel to Mr. Alfred James Radcliffe of Lewis, Kansas.
At the appointed hour, to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Martha Kessel the bridal party consisting of the ribbon girls, Ellen, the only sister of the bride, and Frances Rathert, of Bonair, Elizabeth Hall of Sumner, as flower girl, Miss Gladys Dunn as bridesmaid and Mr. John Dell, brother of the bride, as best man, the bride and groom took their places under a bower of ferns, Rev. Gammons performing the ceremony in the presence of twenty-five relatives and friends.
The bride wore a cream silk princess dress and the groom wore the conventional black.
After the ceremony Miss Mignon Dunn, accompanied by Miss Martha Kessel, sang “All For You" by Guy D’Hardelot.
A four course dinner was served by Miss Julia Kessel and Miss Bessie Dunn. The dining room decorations were pink and white. The place cards were designed and painted by the bridesmaid.
The bride and groom received many beautiful presents of cut glass, silver, china, linen and furniture.
Mrs. Radcliffe is one of Cresco’s most estimable young ladies. She has a large circle of friends who wish her much joy and happiness in her new home.
Mr. Radcliffe is a highly respected young man of Lewis, Kansas. Although not well known to Cresco people he has gained many friends during his
short stay by his pleasant and amiable manner.
Mr. and Mrs. Radcliffe left Monday afternoon to begin housekeeping in their newly furnished home in Lewis, Kansas.
The out of town guests were Elizabeth Hall and Frances Simonds, of Sumner, John Dell of Winfield, Kans., Frances and Abbie Rathert of Bonair.
