MARRIED.
One of the pleasantest home weddings of the summer occurred last Wednesday evening at the residence of Mrs. Frederick Swenson. Her daughter, Miss Alice, was married to Mr. Carl W. Reed by Rev. H. J. Hinman of the Congregational church.
The house was beautifully decorated for the occasion with ferns and rambler roses. The guests were almost entirely from the two families, but Miss Remore, of Northwood, Iowa, was present and played the wedding march, and Dr. and Mrs. Stout were present from Hastings, Minn. Mr. Elton Fessenden and Miss Ruth Swenson, a sister of the bride, stood up with the happy couple.
After the brief ceremony, light refreshments of ice cream and cake were served.
The bride received some very beautiful presents, including cut glass and a handsome chest of silver.
Mr. and Mrs. Reed went by automobile to Riceville to take the night train for the east and will be gone about three weeks. They intend to visit Chicago, Detroit and Buffalo on their trip. On their return they will reside at the Judge Reed home.
The contracting parties are of our most respected young people, both born and reared in Cresco where they have many friends who extend their sincere congratulations.
