SMITH—FLAHERTY—At the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Lourdes, Iowa, April 27, 1909, Mr. P. H. Smith and Miss Mayme Flaherty were united in marriage.
While the wedding march was being rendered by Miss Susie Urban, the bridal party marched to the altar, where the vows were spoken during a nuptial high mass celebrated by Rev. Father Norris.
The groom was attended by his brother, Mr. Jos. Smith and the bride by her cousin, Miss Loretta Conroy of Minneapolis.
The bride was becomingly attired in white and the groom wore the conventional black. Following the ceremony, the bridal party returned to the home of the bride’s mother, where a sumptuious wedding breakfast was served, after which Mr. and Mrs. Smith left for the Twin Cities to enjoy a short wedding trip. Upon their return they will go to housekeeping on the groom’s farm.
Mr. Smith is a prosperous young farmer, residing near Lawler, Iowa, and is well known in this vicinity. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. B. Flaherty of Lourdes, and is a very estimable young lady, highly spoken of for her womanly virtues and amiable disposition.
