Silver Wedding Celebration.
For some time it has been customary among the neighbors residing just northwest of town to celebrate the various wedding anniversaries as they occur, and although the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Rutch does not occur until next March, on account of the moving away of some of those who have always participated it these events, it was decided to hold this celebration while all could attend. The evening was spent in dancing, social conversation and with a due appreciation of the well filled lunch baskets provided by the guests. As mementos of the event Mr. and Mrs. Rutch were presented with some elegant silverware consisting of knives and forks, spoons, sugar bowl and butter knife, and a couple of nice rocking chairs. Among the donors, most of whom were present, were:
Mr. and Mrs. John Gerber, Fred DeGreve, Fred Roth, Will Owens, John Steinman, Elias Ferrie, Chas. Kapler, Fred Gerber, Willis Farnsworth, Jake Gerber, Adolph Kapler, C. J. Vance, Aug. DeGroote, G. N. Walker, John McDermott, Emil Reutlinger, R. M. Thomson, John Lusson, John Albers. John Lewis, Walter Forry, J. J. House, Richard Kapler, John Junker, Mrs. A. Bartholomew, Mrs. James, Mrs. Mary Ratz, Messrs. Fred Gerber, C. D. Prinz, George Bartholomew, Wm. Con¬nolly, G. Meverden, John Gerber, Ernest and Alfred Kach, Ben Schnell and Lusson & Zbornik.

Transcriber's Note: The actual anniversary wasn't until March 1909; however, it was celebrated in 1908 as stated above.
