On Monday, Feb. 24, 1908, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Sisco, living east of Braddock, a very pretty home wedding occurred when John J. Ryan and Miss Mamie Sisco were pronounced one "for better or for worse” by the Rev. John Laman of this city.
While only the immediate members of the family were present the nuptial ceremony was characteristic of the American home wedding. The bride was beautifully yet simply gowned in white mull with veil and orange blossoms while the groom was wrapped in his happiest smile. Lohengrin march was played by Mrs. R. C. Barton of this city, sister of the bride. Many useful and beautiful gifts were received. After a delicious wedding breakfast the bridal party left by the Soo train for the twin cities and other eastern points.
John J. Ryan is one of the most successful real estate dealers, ranchers and farmers in Emmons county and he enjoys the friendship and confidence of the entire community. The bride is a beautiful and accomplished young lady who possesses the additional gift of being a good housekeeper, and who during her short residence in Emmons county has made friends of all.
Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Ryan will be at home at the bride’s homestead, east of Braddock.—The Braddock News.
