Married.
On Monday evening, April 22nd, occurred the marriage of Edward M. Grobel and Miss Bessie Barker at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. W. K. Barker. The wedding party consisted of about 35 relatives and intimate friends of the contracting parties.
At eight o’clock, to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Angie Lyons, the bridal couple, attended by Miss Winnifred Barker as bridesmaid, and Geo. Story as groomsman, took their placed in the parlor which was beautifully decorated for the occasion with smilax and carnations, and were united in marriage by Rev. Hinman, who used the Episcopal ring service for the occasion.
The bride was gowned in white silk and carried white roses. The groom wore the conventional black.
Following the ceremony, refreshments were served to the assembled guests.
Both of these young people were born and reared in Cresco where they are highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The bride is one of the accomplished musicians of our town and will be missed in the musical and church circles in which she was active. The groom has been rapidly advancing in his chosen vocation since leaving Cresco and now has a fine position in the C., M. & St. P. railway offices at Missoula, Montana, for which place the young couple left Tuesday, followed by the good wishes and congratulations of all.
