A military wedding took place in the historic cadet chapel at West Point, N. Y., at 4 o’clock on May 9th. Miss May Florence Page, daughter of Gen. and Mrs. J. H. Page, U. S. A., was married to Lieut. George Sherwin Simonds, Twenty-second infantry, now on duty at the military academy. Gen. Page was formerly at Ft. Snelling as colonel of the Third infantry. The chapel was decorated with palms, smilax and spring blosoms,{sic} and military trimmings. The bride was gowned in pearl white satin trimmed with the lace worn by her mother on her wedding day. A necklace of pearls, the gift of the groom, and a pearl pin, a family heirloom, were her only ornaments. She carried a shower boquet of lilies of the valley and bride’s roses. The maid of honor, Miss Marjorie Page wore pink canton crape trimmed in point d’Alencon lace and carried La France roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Elizabeth Hardy Fair, of Virginia; Louise Hartwell Dameron, of Kentucky; Sadie Foote Parker, of Alabama and Kate Alexander Marvin of Minnesota. Lieut. Simonds was attended by Capt. Raymond Sheldon, Eightenth{sic} infantry, U. S. A., as the best man. The ushers were Capt. F. W. Allstaetter, corps of engineers; Capt. R. C. Fay, First cavalry; Lieut. A. H. Sunderland, artillery corps, and Lieut. H. E. Yates, Fifth Infantry. The ceremony which was performed by Rev. Edward L. Travers, chaplain of the military academy, was followed by a reception at Cullum hall, which was elaborately decorated. The bridal party was grouped under a bower of ferns and apple blossoms, where the bride and the groom received. The bride cut j the wedding cake with the saber of the groom. Lieut. and Mrs. Simonds left on the evening train for New York.—Pioneer-Press.
