A Wedding Anniversary.
A large party of friends and neighbors gave a very pleasant surprise to Mr. and Mrs. John F. Carroll, on Friday evening, Oct. 27th, in honor of the twentieth anniversary of their wedding. As souvenirs of the occasion, their friends left them a handsome sideboard, a silver cake basket and a beautiful linen scarf and doilies of drawn work, which were presented in a few well chosen words by Hon. D. A. Lyons. They also came with baskets well filled with good things to eat, to which all present did ample justice.
The evening was spent in social chat by the older people, and in dancing by the young; all going home well pleased and wishing Mr. and Mrs. Carroll the pleasure of celebrating their golden wedding.
